AgroFossilFree Project launch
Strategies and technologies to achieve a European Fossil-energy-free agriculture.
The AgroFossilFree Project, which aims to develop technologies and strategies to achieve a European Fossil-free agriculture, officially started on the 14th of October 2020. The project will evaluate EU agriculture's current situation in terms of energy use and will assess existing needs, enabling farmers to optimise agricultural production through more efficient use of energy and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, resulting in economic, agronomic and environmental benefits.
The project, made up of 16 partners from 9 European countries (IR, NL, DE, DK, PL, ES, IT, BE and EL), is led by the Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH), with the participation of INICIATIVAS INNOVADORAS as leader of the Communication and Dissemination tasks of the project (WP5).
It is a 3-year collaborative project and is funded by the European Horizon 2020 Programme with €2 million.
