Funded under the European Horizon 2020 Program, UNTWIST aims to provide comprehensive, systems-based knowledge on the key mechanisms underlying crop stress tolerance strategies in adverse environments, develop accurate models for crop yield prediction, and identify markers indicative of crop yield under stress conditions. In the long term, this will improve crop resilience and yield stability in changing and challenging climates and contribute to increasing the overall sustainability of European agriculture.
Led by AIT (Austrian Institute for Technology), the project involves seven partners from six European countries who will work together for five years. The project budget is €4.9 million.
